Setting a foundation for a better future.
A strong community takes contributions from every member in it. We're committed to doing our share.

Our community commitment.
We direct our dollars and time to organizations that support the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators. Our partners provide programs and services for children and families, ensuring that children have the tools they need to learn, be healthy and succeed. To learn more about our community impact, please visit our most recent Annual Report.
Driven by our mission of people helping people, we have put together several tools, resources and volunteer opportunities to help all of us remain connected and supported. Visit our Community Resource page for local and national giving and engagement opportunities.
Grants
We fund the future. Our grants program focuses in three key areas: education, research and innovation. Working with our community partners, our funding provides access to STEM education to historically underserved communities, drives medical research and fuels new programs to address the most urgent needs of children and families.

Education
We focus on helping underserved communities build the infrastructure and resources to think creatively, problem-solve and innovate—to succeed today and lead tomorrow. We target our support for education in three key areas:
- Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)
- Early childhood literacy
- Financial education
Research
We support our future leaders by keeping them healthy and leveraging technology, research and innovation to fuel breakthroughs in medical treatments and cures. We target our support for research in these two areas:
- Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids)
- Supportive health services
Innovation
We support innovative solutions to our communities’ most pressing needs—removing access barriers and ensuring children and families have the food, shelter and safety they need to learn, grow and thrive. We target our support for innovation in these three areas:
- Food
- Shelter
- Safety
Scholarships
For more than a decade, we’ve supported our members’ educational dreams through our scholarship program. Award recipients have used these funds to attend college, university, career and technical programs around the world, fueling their futures and supporting the next generation of our communities.

Employee giving.

First Tech employees are passionate about giving back! Whether it’s supporting local schools, community food pantries, or furry friends First Tech’s dollar-for-dollar employee match, paid volunteer hours and volunteer grant program provides employees the opportunity to increase their giving throughout the year to maximize their impact to organizations they care about.
Giving back is part of who we are at First Tech—with record breaking participation in employee volunteer programs, our team members truly understand the importance of donating their time and dollars to organizations making a difference. Each year, we host numerous volunteer events on site and in our communities -- delivering STEM education at local elementary schools, building activity kits for children receiving treatment at children’s hospitals, stuffing tote bags full of food to ensure no child goes hungry and so much more.
