First Tech Federal Credit Union Named to Forbes’ America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions 2026 List

First Tech recognized among the nation's best for exceptional financial services across five states

SAN JOSE, Calif., and HILLSBORO, Oregon., – September 4, 2026First Tech Federal Credit Union (First Tech) has been named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions 2026, reinforcing the credit union's long-standing commitment to people-first solutions, meaningful financial relationships and products, and delivering exceptional value to its members.

Spanning a list of 246 unique credit unions across the nation, First Tech ranked among the best credit unions in California, Oregon and Washington. At the beginning of this year, First Tech Federal Credit Union completed its merger with Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU), which also ranked among the best credit unions in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. This recognition further solidifies First Tech’s position as a leader amongst America’s top credit unions and recognizes its longstanding commitment to helping members achieve their financial goals. 

Additionally, First Tech was specifically recognized as the best credit union for members that carry high daily balances due to the benefits of its Premier Rewards Banking account. First Tech’s DCU division was also highlighted as the best credit union for digital banking for its feature-rich, highly rated mobile apps.

The Forbes America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions 2026 ranking is based on an annual independent survey, created in partnership with market research firm Statista. The study draws feedback from more than 26,000 customers, along with an analysis of over 1.2 million publicly available reviews and ratings over the last three years to identify the best credit unions in America. Each score was decided by 20% of the financial institution’s public score and 80% of the survey results.
