What is Zelle?

Zelle is the new way to send money directly between almost any U.S. bank accounts, typically within minutes. With just an email address or mobile phone number, you can now quickly, safely, and easily send money to more people, regardless of where they bank.

 

Who can I send money to with Zelle?

You can send money to almost anyone with a bank account in the U.S.

 

I just started using Zelle, where is my money?

When you register, it may take between 1 and 3 business days to receive your first payment. This is a security feature designed to reduce risk and protect you whenever you’re sending or receiving money. Once you’ve completed your first payment, future payments between you and activated Zelle users will typically move in minutes.

 

How do I use Zelle?

You can send or receive money with Zelle. To get started, download and open the First Tech mobile app and click Send money with Zelle. From there, follow the simple instructions on your mobile device. You’ll be prompted to agree to our Terms and Conditions and verify your identity.

To send money using Zelle, simply select your recipient from your mobile device’s contacts (or add your recipient’s email address or mobile number), add the amount you’d like to send, review, then hit “confirm.” In most cases, the money is available in minutes.Transactions typically occur within minutes. If your recipient is not yet registered with Zelle or their bank is not in the Zelle Network, it could take between 1 and 3 days.

 

Are there any fees to send money using Zelle?

First Tech does not charge any fees to use Zelle. Your recipient will not be charged a fee to receive money with Zelle.

 

How do I get started?

It’s easy — Zelle is already available within the First Tech mobile app! Check our app and follow a few simple steps to activate your Zelle profile today.

 

Can I use Zelle internationally?

No. In order to use Zelle, the recipient must be able to receive money into a bank account in the United States.

 

Can I cancel a payment?

You can only cancel a payment if the recipient hasn’t yet activated their profile with Zelle. If the payment is still pending, you can go to your activity page, choose the payment you want to cancel, and then select “Cancel This Payment.” If your recipient has already enrolled with Zelle, the money is sent directly to your recipient’s bank account and cannot be canceled.

If you sent money to the wrong person, we recommend contacting the recipient and requesting the money back. If you aren’t able to get your money back, please call us at 855.855.8805 so we can help you!

 

How long does it take to receive money with Zelle?

Money sent with Zelle is typically available to a registered recipient within minutesTransactions typically occur within minutes. If your recipient is not yet registered with Zelle or their bank is not in the Zelle Network, it could take between 1 and 3 days.. In some cases, it may take between 1-3 business days for the money to be available to a registered recipient.

If it has been more than three days, we recommend confirming that the person you sent money to has activated their Zelle profile and that you entered the right email address or U.S. mobile number associated with their preferred bank account.

If you’re waiting to receive money, we recommend confirming that the sender entered the right email address or U.S. mobile number.

Yes! They will receive a notification via email or text message.

Keeping your money and information safe is a top priority for First Tech, and when you use Zelle within our mobile app, your information is protected with the same technology we use to keep your bank account safe.

 

I already enrolled with my email address or mobile phone number for Zelle with a different financial institution. How can I use Zelle with my First Tech account?

You will need to contact the other financial institution where you are enrolled, and they can unenroll your mobile phone number or email address. Then, you'll be able to enroll in Zelle using your First Tech account.
