First Tech’s API Marketplace

After years in the making, in May of 2021, we officially launched First Tech’s API Marketplace for developers. An API or Application Programming Interface is a set of functions and procedures for building and integrating application software. While some of the larger banks and tech companies provide APIs, we’re excited to be leading the way for credit unions. We believe APIs truly unlock growth and service potential for First Tech and that the financial services industry will be an API-driven economy.

First Tech’s APIs are only available to approved developers whose companies have an API partnership with First Tech. These partners will use the platform to access and retrieve the APIs they need to build out their loan applications and offer our services to their customers.

The First Tech API Marketplace marks a significant milestone in First Tech’s open banking and innovation journey. It takes us one step closer to offering banking-as-a-service while motivating us to sharpen our competitive edge. We’re stepping out of our traditional banking shell and exploring mutually beneficial partnerships with FinTechs and other companies. Our API vision is to offer a complete suite of products, services and experiences to meet not only our members’ ever-evolving financial needs but also provide our partners value and fuel to grow with us.
